Three-Day Training Program on “Latest Trends in Building Construction Technologies” Begins at CSIR-CBRI, Roorkee
Roorkee, July 16, 2025 — A three-day national-level training program on “Latest Trends in Building Construction Technologies” commenced today at the CSIR-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee. Scheduled from July 16 to 18, the program is specially designed for trainee students from various technical institutes across India, aiming to expose them to cutting-edge innovations and sustainable practices in the field of building construction.
The training program was inaugurated by Prof. R. Pradeep Kumar, Director of CSIR-CBRI. In his inaugural address, Prof. Kumar highlighted the importance of staying abreast of technological advancements in the construction sector. He stated, “Innovations are continuously reshaping the building construction landscape. It is crucial for today’s youth to be aware of sustainable, advanced, and environmentally friendly technologies. This program will not only impart practical knowledge but also instill confidence in young professionals to face future challenges.” He also underlined the significance of both academic education and value-based learning for holistic development.
The inauguration began with a warm welcome to all participants by Shri Nadeem Ahmad, Chief Scientist. The training is being coordinated by Dr. Tabish Alam, Senior Scientist, and includes a series of expert sessions on vital topics such as precast construction systems, prefabricated construction technology, energy-efficient building design, and smart construction methods.
To provide experiential learning, the program also features guided tours of CSIR-CBRI’s state-of-the-art labs at CSIR-CBRI, Roorkee, allowing participants to witness firsthand the practical application of the technologies discussed.
Present during the inauguration were Er. Ashish Pippal, Dr. Chandan Swaroop Meena, Mr. Rajnish Kumar (Technical Assistant), and other members of the Outreach and Dissemination Services (ODS) team. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Er. Ashish Pippal, who urged participants to make the most of this learning opportunity and channel their knowledge towards meaningful societal and academic contributions.
Certificates will be distributed to all participants during the closing ceremony on July 18, marking the successful culmination of this impactful training initiative.
